Stella Blue's Band

Central Park Naumburg Bandshell, Near 72nd St, New York, ny

Stella Blue’s Band is pleased to announce Free Dead in the Park 2019. Keeping alive the tradition of free Dead shows in Central Park begun in the 60s, Stella will take the stage in the Naumburg Band Shell from 5 to 8 pm on May 9. All are welcome… no tickets needed!

It’s a FREE show but is also a benefit for Riverkeeper, New York’s clean water advocate, working to clean up the Hudson River since the Dead first played in the band shell 51 years ago. As a thank you, the Garcia Family has graciously agreed to let Stella use a painting that Jerry made for Riverkeeper back in 1992 for our event t-shirt. The great Kenny Schneidman designed the back. Support Riverkeeper and Free Dead in the Park and get a free shirt here: www.riverkeeper.com/freedead.

And if you’d like to become one of the special donors who we call “Friends of Free Dead in the Park,” (the folks who really make this happen) contact Steve at weatherre@gmail.com or click here www.Riverkeeper.org/centralparksponsor

We’re especially grateful for our event sponsors, the Capitol Theatre and the Morgan Le Fay Dreams Foundation along with all the Friends of Free Dead in the Park, including Alex Blavatnik, Scott Schaevitz and John and Rachel Cahill. Special thanks to D'angelico guitars for reasons we can't tell you yet.
